Here's A Useful Website You Haven't Heard About...

Rob (creator of celebheights.com) with David Tennant.

Have you ever found yourself in that situation where you're watching a movie or TV show, and think to yourself, "hmm I wonder how tall that actor/actress is?" No? Well good, because that means you aren't an OCD freak like me. If, by chance, you said yes, then I have the perfect website for you!

It is, perhaps unsurprisingly, called celebheights.com. Maybe I'm just obsessed with height, but I find this website to be extremely useful.

You'll be able to find nearly every celebrity you can think of on there, and the height they're listed at is usually highly accurate (at least compared to what they're listed as on some mainstream website like IMDB). Why is this? Well, celebheights attracts height-obsessed folks who go to great lengths to analyze photos of celebs and recount their own experiences with them in order to pinpoint a star's exact height.

That means you won't see any inflated heights (for the most part). Tom Cruise is listed below 5'8", Bieber is below 5'7", Stallone at 5'8.5". If you want to get a sense of how tall these people actually are, and not what they are perceived as in movies or in your mind, you'll definitely want to check these listings out.

Sometimes you'll even be surprised by a height that's higher than you expected, like 6'0" for Matt Smith (who I thought was like 5'9" when I watched Doctor Who). This may seem like superfluous information, but when you're crazy about the details like me you appreciate stuff like this.

The site is run by a cool dude named Rob, who I've interacted with on numerous occasions (though only through a pseudonym). He goes out and meets celebrities on a frequent basis in order to get photos with them, which allows him to guestimate how tall they are (he went to great lengths to document his own height -- 5'8", so visitors to the site can use him as a gauge by which to measure others).

Anyways, I figured I'd give this site a bit of a spotlight since I'm tired of hearing people talk about actors as if they are taller (or in some cases) shorter than they actually are. In the future, don't go to IMDB (which is usually off by about 3 or so inches when it comes to height), go to celebheights.com and see the truth!
